Instead of holding all the features at once, we will actually be releasing them in increments.

New features:

Hit logging
You can track how many users visit your website soon. We will be integrating some sort of nice graphical (or textual) counter feature into your site, but until then you can keep track of your site traffic. You can also create an IM profile link to see which IM users are clicking through to your tabulas.

Own Templating
You can now upload and use your own templates. We have not yet added support yet for custom entries, but this should be done sometime in the near future. Adding your own template adds it into the dropdown for the "Select Template."

We have rearranged the way the gallery works a little bit in hopes it's a little more streamlined. We've also modified "modify entry" because quite frankly it sucked.

We realize the site is still rather clunky in places - we are working to resolve all those issues shortly.

would it be possible to enlarge the windows of the boxes we type in for entries & posts?

or are they meant to be small in order to encourage concise entries & comments? :)

Haha. The main entry addition is going to be overhauled quite shortly and that will be one of the key enhancements.

Jeez, I make it out to be a big deal. But yes, we will enlarge all these boxes ;)

Cool, cant wait for the new features, will test the custom template later.

Anyway, a minor suggestion, since there are few peeps asking for beta status, why not, if you're able to track which beta testers havent log in for some time and have abandon their beta account, might as well hand over the beta status to more active peeps who actually wants to write their own journal here...so basically, priority to the acive online journalist here so to speak, whats the point of handing over a beta account to someone who doesnt actually use it and only test it few times?

my 2 cents. take your time in bringing out the new features, im sure its hard work and i think its safe to say on behalf of the active peeps here, we appreciate it. thanks.

Deleting users is a mess. Not sure I want to risk this yet. And I'm not really in the mood to go through the database and find active users.

Yeah ok i understand really, was just suggesting coz, the unused beta accounts are rather wasted and not being to put to good use, so yeah, that was the main rationale. see ya.

Great...everything works perfectly now :) Just a question...is it possible for me to be promoted to Beta Tester status please? Or is it too exclusive?

Possibly ;)

Does this mean that I can ask for Beta Tester's privilege too? Heh, I'm quite active with my account :D

Look at the cat and please say yes :)

Heh thanks man =) I really hope you give me this priviledge...I'd really appreciate it :)..
Actually, I found an inactive beta user..his username is "chopsticks". User #12. Here are some of his details..
Joined Date: 2003-03-16

Can you give me his Beta UsersStatus instead since he hasn't even logged in for 2.5 weeks already? And no entries/content has been made too =/ I really think it's such a waste that they arent treasuring the opportunity to be a Beta tester man =/

Also, I noticed you signed me up for the Audiomatch Development Team Blorging? Sorry man but I've got no idea on that kinda stuff..perhaps I could help out elsewhere in another area of development?

Thanks for the changes :)

One thing I've noted...for the Gallery using the "Brarh" template, the text of the links at the botoom of the page i.e. "tabulas.com | login | register" and the copyright text is extremely big and I cant find any panel to edit this. Is there any way we can edit this text size?

Also, for the creation of new templates, i tried creating a simple one with just a few words as the header and a few words as the footer. The header showed up fine but the footer didnt. Is there a small bug or did I make a mistake?

If it wasn't clear, it was our fault. Try to input your footer under 'edit your template' again and you should be fine.

The monkeys responsible for this have been reprimanded.

We've removed the bottom navigation - it was something I forgot to do earlier.

I'm not to sure how to use the Create Template option. Are you supposed to type in HTML code like you would when creating websites? Does this mean it is possible to use templates found on sites like blogskins by copying and pasting the text?

Oh, another thing, the usericons for entries don't seem to work. I've already ensured that the "Disable usericons" in the General Styles is set to "No" but when I tested it, my user icon didn't come out. Is this function already enabled or is it still in the works?
Comment posted on April 7th, 2003 at 09:05 AM
Usericons work. They only work for templates that enable them (brarh does not allow for usericons).

The idea of the friends page is exactly so you don't have to visit 200000 sites to catch up on a friends list. :) It skews your site hit logs, but who cares? :P

Heh, ok then.. Oh another suggestion. Maybe we can have an option to move our links up and down the list? Right now, the links appear chronologically but I would like to be able to move my links around without resorting to deleting some of my links so that a certain link can be moved up the list, if you get what I mean :)

Oh okay, I'm using Brarh, no wonder..

Some suggestions for the site:

- Maybe the Friends' page could show abridged versions of posts instead of the actual full length posts instead? You could have a few lines and a "More" link to the actual site. I'm kinda paranoid about ppl just reading my posts from others and not actually going to my site haha..

- Have an "Edit Template" Option? As in give us the ability to edit the existing templates. I'm not skilled in creating new templates of my own, but I would like the option to edit the current templates so that it'd suit my blog better and I'm not just referring to the colour schemes but the actual template itself.

Yup, that's all, thanks :)
