Quick Edit: Commenting was accidentallly disabled. Should be fixed now. Sorry.

The final feature set for Tabulas 1.0 is below ... these are all the features that we will be working on over the upcoming weeks. Some include an 'upgrade' of existing features, and others are completely new. Click below to see all the bugs and features that will be added...

Lingering Bugs: (High Priority)
- Datestyle on friends/friends of pages if the first entry uses a datestyle different than the site owners is different.

- No sticky/favorite/blogring buttons on entries (similar to friends-only/private posts) to distinguish them

- Save Draft feature along with 'submit' for adding entries; this will automatically sticky and set the privacy level to 'private' so you can work on it later.

- Tagboard hexcode color input

New Features
Adding Entries
- AIM tag will autoformat copied AIM conversations in entries.
- Image command tag will allow people to insert a 'keyword' as an image; this keyword will then be used as the search key in the existing users's gallery; any images with that keyword will be displayed on the next page so that the user can add it to their entry. This will deprecate the existing method of adding 'existing' images and will allow users to add existing images in the middle of entries instead of just the end. (Edit: Perhaps a popup window where you can click an image in your gallery and have that add HTML wouldn't be so bad either)
- Pinging Weblogs.com option will be added so your blog can be added to the main RSS feed at weblogs.com whenever you update
- Users will be able to create autolinks - these will be 'trigger words' within an entry that will automatically be replaced with links. For instance, if I decided I wanted to link to the tabulas home page whenever i wrote 'tabulas,' i would set tabulas as the trigger word and the script would replace it with a link.
- HTML Cleaner system - the current system is a bit inefficient. convert to a regular expression system; it's currently creating a massive entry array and then looping through it a few times (very inefficient).

Hit Logging
Create a user-interface to access, view, sort and download all aspects of hit logging for their tabulas. Currently the timestamp, referrer, and whether it is offsite is checked. Features for the admin hit logging section:
1.) Off-site referrals
2.) Last 100 visitors // Last 100 visitors with known referrers
3.) Hits by day of the month
4.) Hits by day of the year (excluding current month)
The data output will be dynamic – generated upon request, and not run by cron. At the beginning of the next month, the database will be cleared and hits by day of the year data will be stored in an archival. Users will be emailed a summary of the hits for the month and the option of saving their referral database via XML.

Link Management
- The edit link actually creates a new entry, this must be fixed.

- Include an option to “linkroll” all your links into a format; this is to allow for people to add a command () into a template. There should also be extended options to format the linkrolling however way you want to using the commands. Link rolling files will have to be built into a text field in the mySQL database with display options.

Comments Page
- Allow for anonymous posters to add a URL/email address when they input comments

Gallery
- Allow for comments to be fulltext, but restrict full text on the album page to 255 characters.
- Add commenting feature to images

Image Upload Styles
- Allow for different upload styles for images. Not only will there be a 1px black border option, but a 1px white border, and the option of a 'double border' which seems to be pretty popular on a lot of galleries here.
- Option to rotate images, add text stamp to image, and ability to b&w a picture

Backing up Entries
Users will be able to request their whole journal for backup purposes; only one download per month will be allowed. Users may download their whole entry in HTML format, XML format, or PDF format.

Custom Entry Display
Complements custom template display for full control of your journal.

Styling System
- Rebuild CSS system; existing dropdown format is bulky and inefficient.

- Standardize styles across all Tabulas templates; be more specific within the CSS to different styles.

- XHTML 1.0 compliancy for all layouts

User Center
Find other members by location, interests, sex, and age. Kind of like the "yellow pages" of Tabulas. Will also have full tutorials, FAQ, and tech support options for users.

Extra Features that may or may not make it into 1.0:
Email Management:
The ability to respond directly to comments via e-mail; this will autopost as a comment. There will also be an option to e-mail an entry to a preset e-mail that will automatically add to your journal without having to log-in.

RSS/XML Feeds:
Possible full XML feeds of entries up to 10 entries? Not sure if this is quite practical yet.

Feedback Log
Upgraded version that allows you to keep track of comments you've left in other journals and whether there are responses to those.

not sure if this is a bug... or I'm just not understanding how this is supposed to work...?

I'm trying to attach existing images (from albums) and it says "successful" and then i go to look @ my entry and nothing is there...

oops... sorry so many msgs... but i figured out where it occurs.

to repro:
1. write an entry
2. click edit
3. then add existing image from gallery
4. submit
-> images not attached...

but when you go back to write another entry, they are pre-attached to the new entry.

That makes sense. I have no foresight.

This will be fixed with 1.0, when I'm going to use a whole different method of attaching images ... the current system was meant as a placeholder more than anything.

another bug: when replying to comments, the first of my replies goes on top as a new comment instead of the bottom as a reply...

That's not really a bug. More like a shortcoming that I can't fix...

wow, 1.0 looks really really sweet.

btw, under lingering bugs, upon editing links in the link spage, it creates new links instead...
