We've moved all site options from "preferences" to "styles." Please try around those settings and make sure they're working alright. there is also the option under 'prefences' to make the 'advanced' mode the default additional mode.

We've also fixed up the Weblogs.com ping feature (finally).

Id like to see free users have access to a couple more usericons.

The disagreement is yours, and I respect that. But I have to take into account how to make paid accounts attractive, and taking away one of the most CPU intensive portions of the site is a good way to do that. Remember that I am paying for this venture with my own money, and making this site financially self-sufficient is one of my key tasks =)

would like the usage of the access to site hit logging back on track.. the limitation above kind of bugs me because when i join tabulas those function worked and allow me to know who hits my site like xanga or other type of blog entery. it may not be a big deal to some people but sometimes littlest thing can be the glitch ....it seems nothing is ever free to the public anymore with out making a few dollars down the road

Well, why do you think that? As much as I'd like to give you all these features free, someone has to pay for the server use and the bandwidth. I've tried to be quite liberal with all features, but there has to be some "reward" or incentive for paid useres to switch up. And frankly, taking away one of the more CPU intensive features is the best way to accomplish that.

For some reason, my tabulas isn't allowing me to edit my stylesheet. I only have one, and one stylesheet and one template, but it keeps saying that I'm only allowed 4 CSS files. What gives?

Also, another small bug that I've come accross is that I can't seem to select the red faces smilies set. I sleect it and save settings, but no changes are made to my tabulas, and when I go to the general style webpage again, it shows that i have selected blue smilies.

Other than that, good work :)

something strange...
i inserted 5 images
another 5

then another 5... but they all went into a weird order after the 3rd 5...

could it be because i deleted some of the first 10?

i know i've bugged you about the picture order feature before... but it would be awesome if you could collect all the info from 1 page, rather from each individual picture entry page... just gets tedious to change it this way

You can... you hit the checkboxes next to the "edit images" link to select the image and then hit the "Edit Images" button on the bottom; this will edit all of the images in a specified album at once.

ahhh... awesome... now, perhaps a "check all" button? :)

another bug: when i edit the order & say "save changes", the next page that is generated gives me my gallery (in list form) but it repeats itself over & over & over...

Gallery bug

msg:
You have an error in your SQL syntax near ') AND a.imgid = b.imgid ORDER BY imageRank' at line 3

got this by clicking
the orange "edit images" button on page:
http://www.tabulas.com/private/gallery.php?viewAlbum=863

You have to check some of the images (next to Edit Images). That error comes up when you don't check any images to edit ... but I should have that fail gracefully;)

hi. can anyone tell me how to add a javascript password prompt for my tabulas site? i tried to add the script but it didn't work. the html for the tabulas template is quite difficult to decipher. i don't want to mess around with the default template and spoil my site. yup. :)
Comment posted on July 26th, 2003 at 12:16 PM
First off, I'm not sure why you want to add a Javascript password; you're not passwording anything. Javascript passwords are notoriously easy to break; you just go to Internet Explorer and uncheck "allow Javascripts."

With that said, if you still want to do it, there's no way to do it without creating a custom template. Generate the HTML of your template and then input the Javascript in the HTML itself...

ah.. i din realise how easy it is to break the code because i'm not using IE. well i thought it might be good to have it because i used to have that password thinggy on my blogger site. if this is the case i think i'll just stick to my tabulas template and leave it as that. thanks for the prompt response! :)

roy: i'm not sure if you already considered this feature already and rejected it but how about for paid users - and maybe beta users :) file storage capabilities. this option would let folks share a video file or sound file through their blog. just a thought.

Hrm. There was a worry when I considered this that it would be used to upload MP3s, and I really don't want to be targetted by the RIAA ... but I"ll think about it for future use :)

sorry about having another problem this soon, but i can only create one stylesheet file. could it be that the "Reset Journal Colors to Default" is counted as a CCS file?

Should be fixed.

I have over 700 images and I am a free user. Are you going to delete my site or make me delete the pictures or something? I'm not really sure what I am suppose to do
