We're having our first Tabulas contest! We're trying to see if we can create more of a community by testing the skills of our designers. If this contest runs smoothly, we'll have more contests in the future (not all relating to webdesign things ... hopefully we can have some 'fun' contests, too!)

(This contest has a first prize of a free paid lifetime Tabulas account!)

You know, this is quite random, but I must say that I think it would be really nice if Tabulas had a section in Profiles for listing interests like LJ does. It makes finding friends a lot more convenient, you know?

That's what shared journals are for :)

I uploaded a picture into my "New/Assorted Pics album, but it doesn't show up. So, I uploaded the same pic, checked to be sure it was on public view and in the right album, but again it doesn't show up. The counter does show that I uploaded 2 more pics. What happened?

hi... someone is commenting my tabulas using my email address... i am the only one that uses the computer... is there any way we could track this person!?
Comment posted on November 17th, 2003 at 12:48 AM
Huh? I don't see any comments in your Tabulas from anonymous users using your account..

Also, please turn off that javascript popup warning. It makes my troubleshooting a lot easier if I don' thave to click ok everytime I visit one of your pages :)

Hi Roy :-) I want to make my journal private, and have checked the box marekd 'make my journal private'. However, I logged out, and typed in the URL of my journal, and the journal showed up. If I'm not logged in, I shouldn't be able to see the journal, right? Because I don't want anyone else to be able to see it just by typing in the URL. Do I have to do anything else?
Comment posted on November 16th, 2003 at 03:24 PM
That option does not make your journal 'private' in your sense. It simply delists you from all Tabulas listings.

You'll have to throw all your entries into a category, and then set a private override for your category in order to make your journal &quot;private.&quot;

I see the "Favorites" link on my site but don't see it on my Control Panel. What is it for (favorite links?) and where is it located in my controls?
Comment posted on November 16th, 2003 at 03:26 PM
Favorites will display entries you list as being "favorites" (there is a checkbox under advanced entries). It's a quick way to mark notable entries you've written so they're easily accessible to users.

just a note that your html parser doesn't seem to do a good job in entries when i have the url closed with &gt;
see http://www.tabulas.com/~dodozhang21/57737.html (scroll all the way down).

i also noticed that sometimes the last &quot;/&quot; is excluded from html replacing. which is not a big deal at least the accessibilty of the url is not hindered. but not so for the first problem.

what does the 25 autolinks refer to?
Comment posted on November 13th, 2003 at 02:42 AM
Autolinks are words you can associate to certain websites; whenever this word appears in one of your entries, the word is automatically linked to the website of interest.

Hello... I cant enable my tag board... Is it free or do I have to pay for it?
Comment posted on November 12th, 2003 at 06:50 PM
You're using a custom template. You need to input the tagboard command into your template in order to allow for your tagboard.

http://www.tabulas.com/documentation/

look there for the tags.

Yes, if you select the border option, they will have a black border around them.

BTW, what's the low down on the Tokki Project?
Comment posted on November 13th, 2003 at 02:43 AM
I've been incredibly backlogged with life and school things and have been unable to do any work on Tokki.
Comment posted on November 13th, 2003 at 01:04 PM
Okay. Well, thanks for all your hard work. I am just realizing the power of the Content Pages for teacher use! You've got a great service going here. Just so you know, Educational Weblogs posted about the Tokki Project so when you do get it going, I'm sure teachers will be very interested in it.

Is there a way to create hotlinks on Content pages?
Comment posted on November 11th, 2003 at 03:23 AM
Hyperlinks? Sure, you can just input the HTML to create a hyperlink manually:

&lt;a href=&quot;http://www.link_location.com&quot;&gt;Text to Link&lt;/a&gt;
Comment posted on November 11th, 2003 at 01:14 PM
Okay, it shows up on the Content page as the title of the site with the word "Link" in blue which is hotlinked. How can I hotlink on the title of the site? I tried >Text to Link</a> but then it comes out with the title of the site then the words "Text to Link" are hotlinked in blue next to the site name. I only want the site name hotlinked, if possible.
Comment posted on November 13th, 2003 at 02:44 AM
I don't quite follow your question ...
Comment posted on November 13th, 2003 at 01:07 PM
Sorry, I'm not explaining it clearly. I added in the tag (is tag the correct term?) but the title of the link is not a hyperlink. What happens is that the title of the link shows up in black and then the word "Link" is hyperlinked. If possible, I don't want the word "Link" to be hyperlinked. I'd like the site's title to be hyperlinked. thanks

Quoted from roy: WE DO NOT DELETE ACCOUNT.

Comment posted on November 10th, 2003 at 09:37 PM
or better, you can:
1. change your username
2. change your entries access level to 'private'

Off Topic: On my shared journal-when I used the URL link function, and typed the URL where indicated, all the following text for the entire entry was linked. I tried different ways of editing but it didn't work. What am I doing wrong?
Comment posted on November 11th, 2003 at 03:23 AM
Make sure the format of the HTML looks like this:

&lt;a href=&quot;http://www.link_location.com&quot;&gt;Text to Link&lt;/a&gt;

You're probably missing the last &lt;/a&gt;, which is why all your text is getting linked.
Comment posted on November 11th, 2003 at 12:50 PM
Nope--I tried it again and I put in the last </a> but all the text still links.
Comment posted on November 11th, 2003 at 01:18 PM
Okay. I tried again and I was able to create a link without the rest of the page linking. But, same question as above--can I simply link the title of the site instead of having the word "Link" show up as the hotlink next to the site title?
