We've implemented a rough version of a "user banning" feature. This feature allows you to prevent specific Tabulas users or IP addresses from accessing your Tabulas; this does not prevent them from seeing entries posted to your friend's "friends page." This will simply block them from accessing all content at your journal URL.

You can find the banning feature underneath the "Preferences" tab in your control panel.

Please note that anyone CAN spoof their IP address via their browser settings; this feature should only really be used to block non-computer savvy people from visiting your journal. This is NOT a "foolproof" solution!

Paid/beta members also have the option of using IP wildcards; you can input the IP address as (for example): 152.23.203.*; this will ban everyone that share that IP block 152.23.203.

This is a feature under more development. Please let us know how you like it and we might expand it in the future.

How can i get to avoid a person who's posting nonsense at my tagboard? I wanted to ban him but i can't 'cause the IP address shown in the tagboard moderation has a wildcard, which is... can be only used in a paid feature. Anyways, try going to my Tabulas to see what i mean. Read my tagboard, read below it. A person's pretending to be me by using my nick (but not logged in) and floods posts at my tagboard.

Can you do something with it? I have his IP address at my tabulas. I pinned a topic for it.

the problem i mentioned about the escape chars is still happening (slash quote turns into slash slash slash quote upon subsequent save)

perhaps if you didn't insert ANY slashes it would make more sense? i'm not sure why i see the point of trying to turn the quote into an escape sequence if there is a (break) in the entry
Comment posted on November 7th, 2003 at 07:20 PM
oh the problem was within the actual [break=problem's right here]

ok i got that fixed.

where is this specifically happening again? any time you have quotes within a [break=custom]text[/break] sequence? i haven't been able to duplicate this problem if so.

the escape quotes are there because otherwise someone can execute SQL injections. they're just (for some reason) not being removed...

Sorry to bug you again, but how to we set a stylesheet on shared ones too?
Comment posted on November 6th, 2003 at 11:30 PM
You can't really set stylesheets on shared journals yet.

*raises hand* Ah! Question! On shared journals, how do we post entries?

Hit the checkboxes for each shared journal under the advanced entry addition mode.

How do you upload a animated graphic for your gallery/entry/usericon?
Comment posted on November 6th, 2003 at 04:34 PM
the same way you upload any other image.

Yeah, but I only know how to by saving the picture I see, and I don't know how to save an animated one. How?
Comment posted on November 7th, 2003 at 07:49 PM
animated gifs are the exact same as static gifs. they are treated exactly the same.
Comment posted on November 8th, 2003 at 01:01 PM
Well then I am really confused. How do you save an animated gif? whenever I do, it just stays in position 1 if i try to do anythng to it

Just make sure that the input form is set with the proper ISO settings; your browser will convert what you type into the proper unicode if you set the iso code properly.

Just wondering, are you allowing members under the age of 13 to register and use tabulas? Regarding COPPA rules and such. : I've noticed a few, thought I'd bring it to your attention.

Tabulas:
I can't seem to change my tabulas' color sheets. I deleted both of my previous ones, but its not registering these changes. When I look to see, it shows them both deleted, but yet its still applied to my site and it won't let me create a new one. How do I fix this?
Comment posted on November 5th, 2003 at 05:36 PM
Are you using a custom template? Stylesheets do not work for custom templates; only preset ones.

i use the profile thing that gives a log of who accesses my journal thru my profile, but when some people who access it the s/n does not show up... is that something that can be banned? and how do you get a users IP address
Comment posted on October 28th, 2003 at 03:57 PM
it's easy to change ip adds.. and there may be a chance for others to be included just because they have simillar ip add right? hm why don't you try user banning? just a suggestion ;-)
Comment posted on October 28th, 2003 at 04:27 PM
You didn't read the post very carefully :)

There *is* user banning.

And depending on your ISP, your IP wont' be banned because it's "similar."
