Communities

We have completed our work on communities. There are no barriers set (so free users can freely moderate as many entries/users/communities as they wish. These blocks will eventually be implemented in the future.

You can now remove users/entries if you are the moderator of the community; the control panel area also features a left bar for easier management.

You'll also notice we fixed up the link on the members page (it now contains the link to the actual join page) ... you'll also notice the top bar will have a "join (communityname)" if you are not a member.

Note that there is very little support for "styling" communities. This is the next step we'll take (being able to use your own templates). For now you'll have to use the default ugly template.

hi. some friends of mine were complaining something like this:

Ok it should all be fixed now (I just tested your community out ... joined, added an entry, then left).

Everything is now working dandy :)

If you're talking about the entry, "I'm tired but fulfilled!," you set an entry time to the future.

is there any way to search for communities? cuz you see i'm planning on making one but i want to find out if there are any that is similar to my idea. so i can just join them instead.... O.o

hi! it says in the help section that png is a valid image format for the gallery but when i upload png images, i get an error that says "The failure was due to: Image 1 is not an allowed file type ! (image/png)". any idea why? thanks!

That was the same problem I was having, the problem seems to have to do with Mozilla, but if you use IE, it should work. The server really should be configured to handle image/png...

Try running the same file in Mozilla; I think I've added png support.

Is there any way I can add the tagboard on a content page? I tried adding  but didn't work. I'm not too good at html either.

Tagboards must be added into the HTML. Since you are not using a custom HTML template, just simply enable it from the control panel; you don't need to edit the HTML.

yay tabulas is really getting better...

anyway i just found something...

when you made a friend only post.... it's supposed to be that only the person in your friendlist can see it right?

so my gf made a friend-only post.. and she also posted it in a shared journal... so out of experiment... i log out and went to the said shared journal.. and i saw that friend-only post! i refreshed my ie thinking it was my ie.. but how many times i refreshed it.. it's still there...

so that means.. even though you're not in her friendlist.. or not even a member of tabulas.. you can see a friend-only post when it's posted in a shared journal?

hm.. so is it a bug? or when you post a friend-only post you shouldn't post it on a shared journal?

Hi there..

I want to add pictures/images to my entry, but I noticed that everytime I do it, then it automatically saves the images to my gallery...
Is it possible to just add pics to my entry???

Hi,

I tried creating a community and I got this error message when I tried accessing the link, it shows the following error:

try deleting the community and recreating it. i think i fixed the problem.

hi! i have a question. yesterday i tried to log into my account and it would bring me somewhere else. like i tried to log in as diablo and it would bring me to ________. and today it happened to other ppl. i fianlly got logged in but since it happened to other ppl i am just wondering what happened

i am using my username: diablo and my password. It brings me to different ones every time and i dont remember a lot of them. the last one was peacekitty or something like that.

So my question about not being able to upload PNG images still stands. BTW, any hope of an edit comment feature being added? Sometimes we may not want to delete an entire comment, but only edit out a certain part of it.

And I think a preview feature would be *really* useful for both posting entries or comments (especially comments, as they can't be edited after submission).

We do support PNG, but it has to be an X-PNG file ...

Hi, I have recently experienced some problems with my internet exploer therefore having to resort to use Netscape however, when I use Netscape everything in Tabulas looks distorted..

But I can't use my IE...is there a fix for that problem..when I was on Netscape a while ago I couldn't even click submit and there's no select user icon in addition, all that I write is horizonally placed as opposed to vertically like now.

Reinstall IE.

Are you using NS 4.x? If you are, you shouldn't be. Use Mozilla (http://www.mozilla.org)

Yeah..I am using NS Communicator...version 4...hm...alright..yeah..because everything looks really distorted and the java..I am guessing is the thing that my browswer can't display properly....it doesn't work..in terms of....well it won't let me back up my enteries insisting that I need to wait till Jan 27 in order to get a backup of my journal entries...And if you may recall...I was suppose to..but rather forgetful be able to backup my entries during the holidayz...

The date is set 3 weeks from the last time you backed up your journal. Meaning you backed up your journal on January 3rd.

I found something odd...when I go to this link: http://www.tabulas.com/~jinshil/37563html the entry shown is actually someone else's post in my layout. But this should be an invalid link since there is no '.' before the 'html', right?

I made an account a couple days ago and still havent got the confirmation email. I tried to resend the information a couple times and it still hasnt come. Please help, Thanks.

I suggest you use a different e-mail address to verify your account; it seems your e-mail provide is blocking e-mails from the Tabulas mail server (for whatever reason).
