A bunch of new changes for the whole "friends" thing.

You can now filter your "friends of" list so that if anyone who lists you as a friend has some questionable topics you can block them from your "friends-of" list. They will also not appear on your "friends of" listing on your profile.

However, they will still be able to view your entries on their "friends" page.

We've also slightly updated the profile page. Your "friends" may have some bolded text; these are users who have also listed you as a friend (so basically mutual friends are bolded on the profiles "Friends" field).

The "Friends Of" feature now only lists users who list you as a friend but who you have not listed as a friend.

You can also by default choose to NOT display who lists you as a friend and deny users the ability to see your "friends of" page from the Styles page in your control panel; you will still be able to view your own Friends Of page, but everyone else will not.

. . .

We've also updated the output of your links pages to reflect any categories you've created. Categories will not appear unless there is at least one link assigned to it.

my mutual friends are not in bold?

They are. Your default font size is so small that the font does not bold at that size. Look at the HTML. You'll see they are bolded.

Hi! For some reason, it appears that i've been removed from everyone's friends list when I go to my profile. "Michie is nobody's friend. Heh." Now that I see that others are also having this problem, what do I do to get my "Friends Of" list to show up again? Thanks!

Read the post you just commented in.

my community dissappeared on my profile, but I'm still part of it. strange..
Comment posted on January 20th, 2004 at 12:47 AM
also, people who do not come here to check on the updates would naturally assume that others have removed them from the Friends list.

That's why it is highly suggested you keep this journal added as a friend.

on the Profiles page; this line is present:

Friend Of: Dieb is nobody's friend (double heh)

i find that incredibly funny but redundant at the same time.

i have also tried to edit those recent links to change them to No Category but they still won't show. what is wrong?
Comment posted on January 20th, 2004 at 12:26 AM
i was trying out the categories feature before this update and when i realized nothing actually changes on the link pages, i deleted the categories. apparently ive deleted all the link under those categories as well. how do i recover them? :( the most recent ones are still shown on the Recent Links table on the left..

I'm seeing all your links on your links page just fine (?).

i've got a question about the links. i'm getting this error on my links page:

Warning: array_key_exists() [function.array-key-exists]: The second argument should be either an array or an object in /home/virtual/site170/fst/var/www/html/private/links.php on line 218

what should/can i do? thanks!

Problem should be fixed.
Comment posted on January 19th, 2004 at 11:47 PM
thanks, it is fixed, on my control panel.

however, i belatedly discovered yet another (similar?) error on my actual links page:

Warning: array_key_exists() [function.array-key-exists]: The second argument should be either an array or an object in /home/virtual/site170/fst/var/www/html/functions/displayLinkVars.php on line 15

could you also fix that when you have a chance? ^_^ thanks!

I dont get it! The people who add me won't be shown? Or, I dont understand how I can get them to be shown...
Comment posted on January 19th, 2004 at 10:47 PM
If you don't understand it, just understand this: If you do nothing, everything will work normally. :)

One more thing: In the profile section of tabulas, the categories links aren't working. Inside the link itself, the username isn't being entered.

I posted this ont he help section, but it never got answered: what is the diff. between the user and username command in templates. Is there a command for the templates which lets you display the name of the tabulas user thats viewing your website?

On a related note, is there any way to modify the style of the tagboard? I'm thinking of changing the border thickness and whatnot.

The question wasn't answered because that wasn't the proper place for it ;D

There is no <!--username--> command. <!--user--> displays the username of the owner; you should use this instead of hardwiring your username because you may choose to change your username.

As for your second question, there is no command for displaying the username of the person visiting your Tabulas.

If someone has listed you as a "friend of", is it possible to decline, or delete yourself from their list?
Comment posted on January 19th, 2004 at 08:02 PM
No. But you can prevent their posts and their info from coming up in your profile and your friends-of page.

They will still be able to view themselves on their own friends page.

so...what will happen to those who had added me a long time ago? they won't appear on my 'friends of' list again?

What feature are you referencing? The individual user filter feature or the global filter feature?
