The beta control panel has been completely revamped - it was clear the old version was not up to par.

The new version is a lot more stable and has features that were missing in the last version, including:

  • RSS feeds
  • Fixed crossposting to Blurty, LiveJournal, Xanga, Blogger, and Wordpress
  • Download counters (for your files)

You can join the beta test from this page. And don't forget, the beta control panel has no limits - unlimited categories, unlimited images, and unlimited files!

Of course, the new beta control panel also has the features from the previous beta control panel: nested albums, cleaner user interface, and a much better entry editor (You can insert images and links easily!)

PLEASE help me out - if you find ANY issues or problems with the new control panel, please comment below. I will try to stabilize this and officially release it a few weeks from now, so any help I can get will be greatly appreciated!

I know it's sucked with Tabulas not improving for years now, but I've been trying to spend as much time as I can to improve everything as best as I can

The next big item for Tabulas after the control panel is re-exposing some stable APIs so you guys can use 3rd party applications to post to Tabulas. The first will be the metaweblog API ... then possibly a generic Atom API.

Thanks all!

- Roy

hey roy, even if a lot of people are switching to other blogs, you can still count on me to stay in here. i've been here for a few years now, i had two accounts in my years of stay. and i will be here to support tabulas by staying.

one thing though, user banning is still not performing properly. and yes, i would have to agree the new CP takes a bit more time to load. i like the layout of the old CP though.

Does the first page take a while to load, or other pages, too?

hello again, sir roy! in the new cp, do we have unlimited slots to add friends too? coz i think it was only 60 plus for the free accounts, right?

The friends limitation is probably not checked right now, but the limit will probably be raised up to ~100 in the future.

i have just switched to the new control panel. yeah, i seem to like it better with the unlimited categories for entries. but i wonder, when u get to finalize the beta test, will the free accounts go back to having just three categories again?

woohoo, thanks roy ^__^

although it may seem weird but for me the new beta CP is a bit slower to load than the old beta CP [the old beta CP does take some time to load] maybe it was just me.. i still have to test it for some more time

and yay, is the custom user template still unlimited?

Too little too late, Roy. You can count me as part of the exodus to Xanga.

i have an opinion.

i think that putting the "post entry" and the "save as draft button" on the upper right hand corner (in line with the title field) of the page was good. and maybe the recent entry list should be on the right side (like before), because when you login it will be easier to see if there are changes in your recent entries. plus the edit and delete icon on the recent entry list were really nice. i was surprised when they were removed.

and i dont know if it was fixed, there seems to be a problem with the ban user or it is simply because the user name of the person starts and ends with an underscore? hmmmm.

then again, this is just my opinion. hope this helps.
