Actually, after using the gallery a bit, I've decided there's a feature I'd *really* like. And that is, for our images to not get resized. I'd even be happy to have an option to make an image count as 2 images, if that would mean that the pic wouldn't get resized.

They are being stored on the Tabulas server, but I have not figured out quite yet how to deal with them. Don't worry... they will be implemented in the future when I upgrade the gallery functionality =)

I would definitely pay for tabulas if they can have something like Semagic - the client for LJ.
So that I can see my Semagic icon blink when Friends posted new stuff, and not having to use a browser to post entries.
And Preview before posting feature, please.

Thank you!

i would like to keep all my journal entries in one place, so if you can find a way to export entries from, say, livejournal, i would definitely purchase an account.
Comment posted on October 3rd, 2003 at 12:55 AM
Export? Do you mean import?

You can import your LJ entries from http://www.tabulas.com/private/import.php

Hrm. You do bring a good point ... the only reason I don't do tihs willingly is because I really want people to commit a year to the service.

Would a $15/6 months be more conducive to your wallet?

So i just leave my account there and not use it
Comment posted on October 2nd, 2003 at 01:34 PM
If you don't to use your account, that would be the best solution :D

*pets* I feel like I have posted way too much already. ^_^;;

Are more styles going to be accessible for shared journals?

Oh and on the styles page for them the "Smilies Set" and "Comment Link Text" are in the wrong places. ^_^

How can I delete my account

You can't.

I would like to see different ways of searching for users. One example would be searching by user name. The location option only works if everyone has provided that info and not everyone does for security reasons.

And I know this is probably not possible but is there anyway that a decision could be made per entry about cross posting to another journaling system?
Comment posted on October 2nd, 2003 at 12:13 PM
I'm not sure how searching for username would be beneficial. Why don't you just manually try to go to their tabulas?

You also do have the option of crossposting on a per-entry basis... the cross posting screens come up whenever you post an entry, but you don't have to crosspost if you don't want to.

Tabulas, would it be possible to have the break tag say more then just Read More? Like a customization...it saying what ever we want? Like instead of Read More it says Gots More To Say? Yes...an idea. :slaphappy:

Spell checker! Or at least marco to pop in/out of Word for that...

I'd like to pay for my account because this has so much potential and I really like what's already on here. Buuuut, how about a seperate spot for paid accounts that have updated recently and a link on the "pay for an account" going to a list of paid accounts/supporters.

Hit logging/referral URLs, hit counters maybe?

Random images from people's galleries on the front page, although I suppose that might be problematic @ subject matter, lol.

Spotlights (on entries, gallery photos, etc) kinda front page specials. That might also be too subjective and cliquish (friends voting for each other) but that'll be fun for community spirit!

Hit logging and referral URLs are available for paid users.

how do i do the readmore?
Comment posted on October 2nd, 2003 at 12:07 AM
type [break] in your entry
Comment posted on October 2nd, 2003 at 12:35 AM
can there be a way to customize the break tag? and maybe end the tag so that you can have the link in the middle of an entry?

I like the mood icon idea, but I like having your own custom pictures that you upload and you pick one as your mood. Also maybe custom smilies/emoticons, that you upload yourself?
Comment posted on October 2nd, 2003 at 12:46 AM
Isn't what you described essentially what usericons do?
Comment posted on October 2nd, 2003 at 01:12 AM
not really... more like Dracil's idea where it's actually attached / displayed with the currently feeling mood. Oops I don't think I'm explaining it very clearly ^^;
Comment posted on October 2nd, 2003 at 01:11 AM
Ooh, didn't think of it that way... usericons to represent moods.
Comment posted on October 2nd, 2003 at 09:23 AM
That's actually what I have seen many people doing and what I was going to do myself. I think it's more personalized that way. ^_^ And to tell you the truth, some of the actions done by the mood graphics don't always represent the mood very well. *nods*

oh, and a "remember my password" option, so i don't have to keep logging in every time. that would be great.
Comment posted on October 2nd, 2003 at 12:07 AM
Tabulas does remember your password by default ...

I would consider a paid account if there was a bette way to find other users and groups with similar interests. I'd also be interested in seeing indented (or otherwise obvious) threads in the commenting. It's hard to quickly figure out who is replying to what.

flipping them from older (on top) to more current (on bottom) would be nice *hint hint* :)

searching for communities ...that's a good thing ^_^

i would also like to state that if there ever comes a time when you can enable categories for free accounts, it would be every so much appreciated ...i know you are working on some cool stuff for paid accounts (which i can't wait to try out) ...but i thought i should put the plea out there :)
Comment posted on October 1st, 2003 at 11:18 PM
I would really like to give categories to free users, except I'm really going to expand their features to beyond those of free accounts ... but i'll think about it :D
Comment posted on October 1st, 2003 at 08:40 PM
Hey, thanks for activating the beta account! :D However, I can't seem to find the "enable logging" option in the profiles.

In regards to the options, subdomains would be cool, as in http://username.tabulas.com.

And mood icons! But ones that are not tied to the actual mood (like in Livejournal), so you can match different pics to different and freeform mood descriptions. You can also choose not to use it by simply not selecting a picture from the list.
Comment posted on October 1st, 2003 at 08:55 PM
http://www.tabulas.com/private/style.php

Hrm. So you would upload a bunch of images and then select one as your 'mood?'
Comment posted on October 1st, 2003 at 09:07 PM
Oh, and I found the hit logging page. It was under the Journal Styles page. Perhaps a useful option for it now would be a checkbox to set a cookie on your computer so you don't keep logging yourself.
Comment posted on October 1st, 2003 at 09:03 PM
Well, that's an idea, although I was thinking more of pre-made image sets that you could pick from.

So for example, if the image set had like 3 pictures, Happy, Sad, Neutral. I could type in "too happy for words" for the description, and then choose the happy pic. Or I could type in "blah, really bored" for mood, and choose the "neutral" pic. The pic could be displayed next to the mood description.

Could you put up a feature for related entries, not just categorical?
Comment posted on October 1st, 2003 at 08:13 PM
Not sure I follow what you're saying...
Comment posted on October 1st, 2003 at 10:29 PM
I'm not sure, but it might be referrencing a Qlogger.com feature which seems to offer a link from each entry to other "related" entries - based on key words in all of your entries.
Comment posted on October 1st, 2003 at 10:18 PM
uhm, like besides categories, after writing an entry, we could link entries related to the current entry?
Comment posted on October 1st, 2003 at 06:59 PM
i think i've noticed a bug with the readmore/comments when posting @ a blogring.

When you post at a blogring and you select "shared journals only"... when u use the comments / more link... it comes up with an empty page.. like the comment form is there, but the entry doesn't show.

And if someone uses the 'more' obviously.. they aren't going to see what's beyond that =)

just wanted to point that out =]

it would be good to have contact info in the profiles.
Comment posted on October 1st, 2003 at 09:19 PM
And make the location visible as well? If possible? Maybe just make it optional?
Comment posted on October 1st, 2003 at 04:43 PM
When I post a comment under my screename and I get the email with the new change to the page...does that person know who I am by my email address that I have provided to you? I have personal information in my email address which needs to be kept confidential...this person only knows my Sreename correct?
Comment posted on October 1st, 2003 at 04:56 PM
Yes, they only know you by screenname. Simply commenting will not reveal your e-mail address; your e-mail address (if you're registered) can only be revealed by the 'e-mail friends' function (which may be paid-only, i forget) if you both list each other as friends.
