As outlined earlier, we have disabled your RSS feeds at http://www.tabulas.com/rss/username.rss. We have moved them over to http://xml.tabulets.com/rss/username.rss (username should be all lowercase regardless).

I have updated the old feeds with a message telling them to update their feeds.

We've also added a small XML button to all default templates. This links to your RSS feed. Custom templaters can either hardcode it or use the >!--rss--< command to input the button directly in.

Hihi, sorry this is off topic, but ...

New Zealand started Daylight Savings time two days ago making our timezone now +13 from GMT. This option isn't available in the drop down in my preferences so my journal is showing the wrong time for my posts. We'll be +13 for something like six months until we go back to 'normal' time. Can the extra time zone be added please?

Thanks :D

Comment posted on October 5th, 2003 at 03:57 PM
For entry format, you have to enable it from the "Entry Format" screen and not the main screen when you hit the 'styles' tab.

Anyone else's blog's title show up as weird Characters when it pings Weblogs.com? For example, mine should be "Dracil's BlogJournal" but it keeps showing up as "Dracil%27s+BlogJournal" and I can't figure out what's going on.

I noticed that in the rss feed, the entries only has break (the html BR tags) before there is a [break] in our entries. Anything after [break], it's a whole chunk of text. o_O Is there any way to fix this? Wading through something without paragraphs on rss feed is scary when they are long (which is the reason we use [break] in the first place, right?). :x

Can I create a separate blog that is not attached to my current blog? I have a paid account and I read that you can handle multiple accounts. How? Thanks
Comment posted on October 5th, 2003 at 12:27 PM
Yes. Sign-up for another Tabulas account first of all.

Secondly, go to your original (paid) account and go to Control Panel » Preferences Tab » Multiple Users.

Create a multiple user group and note the group ID#.

Then log out and log-into your second account. Go to the same location and input the groupID and hte uesrname/password of your primary account. This will then link the two accounts together (simply meaning you don't have to keep logging in and out to manage multiple users) ... you will see a dropdown on the left side of the control panel allowing you to switch useres.

Go to "Advanced" entry addition page and then scroll down until you see the proper shared journals. then check the ones you want to post to and then hit submit.

I have a question about my "usericon". How come it won't show in my journal but it does show on other's journals.??
Comment posted on October 5th, 2003 at 12:21 PM
If another user uses a template that does not allow for usericons, then your usericons won't show on their journal.

I have one tiny suggestion for the gallery? Can we arrange which albums go at the top on the gallery main page?
Comment posted on October 5th, 2003 at 12:20 PM
You mean the order? You can do that already. Click all your albums and then go to "edit albums." you'll see a box in the top right ... input the order you want to see your albums (e.g. 1 for the first, 2 for the second, etc.)

Stupid question but.. is the cross posting to an lj feature for the paid accounts only? If not then how do we use it, if it's available. :) Thanks!
Comment posted on October 5th, 2003 at 12:18 PM
It is a free feature. Go to "Entry Options" link under the Entry tab ... check the LiveJournal box.

If you set a LJ username as well, be sure you are logged into LJ already when crossposting.

Either it's something wrong with your cookies (not too sure if it even has anything to do with it) or your browser. I'm not too sure... because I have no problem with it.

To delete an image, click the red trash can image located right next to the picture. As for a privet view of the pics, make an album with privet view enabled.
Comment posted on October 4th, 2003 at 08:43 PM
I had figured that's what the red can was for but it doesn't work. also, I made it private but I already got a comment on it! what's up?
Comment posted on October 4th, 2003 at 08:05 PM
How do I delete an image from my Gallery. Also, I want the images to be private but when I view the site I can see the pic. What do I do? Thanks
Comment posted on October 5th, 2003 at 04:10 PM
I've got it now! Thanx
Comment posted on October 4th, 2003 at 10:58 PM
You hit the red trash icon to delete an image.

you cannot make an image private, but the album its in private.
Comment posted on October 5th, 2003 at 09:03 AM
Perhaps I am not understanding what private means. I go onto my site and can see the albums and pictures. One album I set as private and the other public so I could understand the difference, but I see them both. I have received multiple comments on them. THis is fun for me but I am an elementary school teacher and I am trying out my personal blog to learn the how-to's so I can use a blog with my class. But, I have to protect my students from strangers so I need to have the blog and gallery private--meaning no one can post comments to the students (but they can post comments to each other) and, if it's possible, no one can see the album images students upload to the gallery. I have a paid account--are there some extended features that would allow me to do this more successfully? Are there settings I am missing?
Comment posted on October 5th, 2003 at 12:25 PM
This'll be a somewhat long reply...

Private Galleries:
When an album has been set to private, then *only* the account user can see the album listing page. As of right now, there is no support for INDIVIDUAL image privacy (but it is almost impossible for anybody to blindly guess what the image URL is)..

Basically meaning that when YOU set an album as being private, only YOUR account can view those images; nobody else can see them.

If you want only YOUR students to be able to see your images/journal entries, then they need to join Tabulas and you need to add those accounts as being "friends" on Tabulas. Then set all privacy levels to friends-only; only then will they be able to see your images/journals.

HOpefully I made things a bit more clear for you.

I do not like this!! Doesn't this mean someone can just copy my Tabulas entries?? And it's pretty annoying.
Comment posted on October 4th, 2003 at 11:14 PM
I'm not sure why you don't like this feature? The RSS feeds don't make 'stealing' entries any harder than if they just simply visited your site.

I also don't understand how it's annoying? If you don't like the XML button, simply edit one of the default templates and remove the RSS tag...
Comment posted on October 4th, 2003 at 12:37 PM
Mr. Tabulas... :)

I wonder...

Do we have an option to block the news feed? And are the friends-only / private entries omitted from the newsfeed too?

I don't think it's annoying as long as there's an option to turn off rss newsfeed of your tabulas.
Comment posted on October 4th, 2003 at 05:31 PM
I will enable the function tonight.

Only public entries are set to be syndicated, both for Tabulets *and* RSS feeds.
Comment posted on October 4th, 2003 at 12:41 PM
Yes...
Same here! I wouldn't be annoyed if we could turn it off.
