We've revamped the hit logging page to be a little more efficient. To free users, there is no change to the page at all ... however to the paid users, a series of important changes have been implemented.

Before there were two separate options: view hits by day of the month and view most recent visitors.

We decided we didn't like either of them, so we're revamping this section. Our first change has been to generate "reports" which take all of the older "View Recent Visitor" data and generate it into an easy-to-read report. The report page now generates a list of all the URLs that linked to your Tabulas as well as the number of hits ...

We will be revisiting the total hit count (very soon) as we implement new features to better handle the "counting" of users who visit your Tabulas.

Hopefully these changes are for the better ...

Please note that this new "report" feature is very CPU intensive ... please do not abuse it or visit it too often. We will be working on making it less CPU intensive in the future ... but for the time being it should work fine with our existing hardware.

We've also gone through with our plan to clear up namespace issues by cutting for the "wait" time of inactive accounts being given out to new users to 2 weeks.

Autolinks have also been changed back ... the flag word may only contain alphanumeric characters and spaces.

Update:
We've decided to add the ability to view recent visitors from the past 5 days as we had in the old system. Check under hit logging to view this feature again.

We've also re-added the daily hit count so you can keep track of how many hits you get per day. Instead of the calendar system as we had before, it is now listed in a table format (so we can generate a nice little graphic so you can easily compare various days).

Thus ends our work in the hit logging section

I'll be able to help you more if I don't to spend my time trying to translate your unintelligible English. Please rephrase your questions before asking them.

You're using a custom template and you're missing the tagboard command in the custom template.

Lol! 'Please do not abuse it to often'. What about "Please do not abuse it at all"?

hm about the communities.. i'm just making a suggestion...

on the space where we usually see "add username as a friend", when your on a community... instead of that.. it should have been "join this blogring/community/sharedjournal" because going on the link on the members section's kinda bothersome.. and some people don't know it's there...

just a suggestion :)

That's odd... on that hit logging page, briefly the hits were shown on the right of the urls while loading, but then suddenly, the right column becomes a solid block of gray. The numbers are still there, just unviewable. This is under Mozilla.

I'm curious as to what build of Mozilla you're running. I'm guessing the "sorting" javascript is screwing things up; but in my Mozilla Firebird, the Javascript works fine (albeit it's a bit slow).

I'm using Firebird 0.7

By adding the communities command. Check help.tabulas.com for more info.

hey roy, is the "view recent visitors" page not available anymore? i kinda preferred viewing stats that way.
Comment posted on January 12th, 2004 at 01:35 PM
Hrm. Well we're trying to replace that old method of "View Recent Visitors" vs. the new method of viewing it as one large report. Is there anything in particular you liked about the old method vs. the new method?

roy, forgive me if i'm wrong here (i might be overlooking something...) but with the new reports, there aren't any IP addresses listed and you can't tell when people visited from the referrer links listed. with the "old way" you get a chronological listing of your visitors.
Comment posted on January 13th, 2004 at 01:11 AM
Alright, we've added the old way back in again :)

I don't know if I'm supposed to post a question here or not but here goes anyway: How do I delete old CSS files? I'm trying to create a colour palette but I'm always told that my CSS file limit has been exceeded.

just a question out of the blue: i remember reading something about how if you refer someone to tabulas, you get more gallery space. i was wondering if that is in effect, because i think i referred 2 or 3 people. thanks.
Comment posted on January 12th, 2004 at 01:32 PM
That was only during the early days ... the referral box is just for our own purposes now :/
