We've been having database issues all day so we took the database down for a bit to work on it; it seems that the database had gotten corrupted from high usage... we repaired the database and just brought it back up.

We are carefully monitoring the situation and we hope that there are no more problems.

Again, we're horribly sorry for the downtime.

Without getting into too much detail, we've been doing a lot of planning to rehaul a lot of the Tabulas system. We will be doing some pre-production work by restructuring the database and recoding some of the entry engines to reflect these changes; your journals for a few minutes at a time may show errors; simply refresh your browser and they should go away. Those errors that do not go away within 2 minutes should be reported below.

We've updated the entry breaking feature; there should be no changes on your end, but the coding is a lot simpler now.

We've broken RSS feeds and the entry backup feature (on purpose). They should be back up shortly; we're restructuring the database schema right now.

You'll notice your Song of the Moment and Book of the Moment have become single fields; this was done to relieve stress on the database... and also to fix the long recurring nasty bug that autoformatted artists in a certain way.

Edit: We're moving all feeds over to RSS 2.0. If you edit or add a feed, your feed will update to RSS 2.0.

Right now we have _no_ international character support; this will be added in over the next few days (hopefully).

Edit 2: Entry backups are now up.

OPML files are now being generated for all Tabulas accounts; these are XML files that outline your Content Pages, your Links, and links to your Tabulas friends. A sample OPML file can be seen here.

These OPML files can be used to parse links to your content pages, links and your friends listing from outside websites.

Your OPML file can be accessed from: http://xml.tabulets.com/opml/username.xml (username should be all lowercase).

These OPML files are updated whenever you update your friends, content pages, or links.

Update: You can now import your OPML file to Bloglines, a RSS aggregator. Although it will not automatically grab RSS feeds for your favorite sites; you can import all your Tabulas friends into their site.

To do so, download your OPML file to your hard drive; then go to Manage Subscriptions in the left pane; you'll then see an Import OPML file on the right side. Simply upload your OPML file and you've got all your Tabulas friends imported!

This is a note to those of you who have PAID for a beta account ... one of the perks was that you would get 2 lifetime 70% discounts off of Tabulas' sister photohosting site (which is now Lightbox7.com). If you did pay for a beta account and would like both of these coupons (they are transferrable and will never expire), please send a private message to this account with your email address and I will issue two coupon codes for you (you do not need to be registered to Lightbox in order to receive these coupons; for all I care you can post them on the internet or give them away!).

Thanks.
